Wednesday Workout for September 25: Hills

On Wednesday, October 1, 1975 Muhammad Ali and Smokin’ Joe Frazier squared off for their 3rd and final match up. Ali won the bout in 14 rounds in what was called “The Thrilla in Manila”.
On Wednesday, September 25th, 2013 at 6:00 PM, at Mill City Running, the Wednesday Warriors will re-create this classic match when, for the 3rd time, they battle the Mill City Hill which for eternity will be known as “The Thrilla on the Hilla” (I think that was a run on sentence).
This week we will be simulating the finish of the Twin Cities Marathon. As many of you know, the final stretch of the Twin Cities Marathon (and 10 mile, 10k and 5k) finishes down the Summit Avenue Hill. Wednesday night we will sprint both up and down the Mill City Hill.
- Warrior 1- 6×300 meters (150 meters up-150 meters down) w/ 1:30 rest
- Warrior 2- 8×300 meters (150 meters up- 150 meters down) w/ 1:30 rest
- Warrior 3- 10×300 meters (150 meters up- 150 meters down) w/ 1:30 rest
If you are training for an event on Twin Cities Marathon weekend you will not want to miss this workout. If you aren’t training for a TC Marathon event just say, “What the hill!” and show up anyways!
