The Rave Run 5K Recap
Friday night was the first of four party races this running season. While the TCM 1 Mile was all about speed, this one was all about the party. The Rave Run was an un-timed, night 5K for “runners, artists and insomniacs” to unite. There were stunning light displays, fast paced electronica music, and an overabundance of bright lights. Runners (or party goers), received a t-shirt, LED bracelet, glow glasses, and glow necklace. The after party was crazy cool too!
What Did Runners Think
Although there was some confusion related to the groupon and Amazon local deals, and parking was a mess, and they ran out of t-shirts… people had fun. One runner said,
“It was a blast! So many different types of people. Also babies in strollers… maybe questionable parenting?”
Babies at a rave? Who are we to judge. Regardless, it’s great this event could draw from such a large demographic. Courtney, a first time runner said,
“It was such an incredible experience for my first 5k! The lights, music, and 8,000 people celebrating life and the ability to run was definitely a night worth remembering!”
The Rave Run Twin Cities took place at Valley Fair as part of a 13 city tour. The race began at dusk with post race party after. Some proceeds of the event went to benefit the Minnesota Adoption Network.
