The December 2015 and January 2016 Minnesota Race Calendars
It’s crazy to think we are already through the first week of November! Thanksgiving is right around the corner, and before you know it, Christmas will be here and then it’s 2016! Where does the time go? Hopefully you’re looking forward to the new year, and already figuring out how to make it your best year yet.
As we look towards the new year, we’ve been working to improve our race calendar. Our summer survey revealed that it is the most viewed place on the site, and it could use some improvement. Also, readers what to know further in advance what races are coming up. Below is the first ever two month race calendar preview post. As runners, we tend to plan our larger races many months out, and sprinkle in some spontaneous “fun runs” along the way. Since December and January have far fewer events, it was a good time to experiment with this format.
From a technical standpoint, the “engine” driving our calendar is totally different. While it looks similar, it’s not. I won’t bore you with the details, but if you are someone who puts on more than a few events a year, contact me about how to easily submit and promote your own events.
We are also loading all of the events around the state for 2016. Stay tuned in the coming weeks and look for your favorites, as well as something new.
If you will be in the Twin Cities on Thanksgiving, you should definitely run the Life Time Fitness Turkey Day 5K. It is the largest Thanksgiving day event in the state, and it will be super cool!
Challenge yourself in 2016 through the TC Challenge Series! With a few new ways to see what you’re made of, this will be one challenge you won’t want to miss.
