The April Mile Speed Challenge Winners
There were four training plans you could chose from, and even a 1 mile race to see how much progress you made. Although that race (the TC1Mile) was canceled, many of you held impromptu mile time trials.
Below is a list of the winners, but first, a summary of results.
April Mile Speed Challenge Results
Surprisingly, not very many of you participated.
- 50 of you submitted at least 1 speed workout in April.
- 17 of you completed 9 or more workouts (the minimum needed to be eligible for prizes) during the month.
- 67% of these workouts were done on the road.
- 21% were completed on a treadmill.
- 88% of you felt either Awesome or Ok, with 1% feeling Awful after the work out.
- therunningsnaz ripped off 19 workouts!
Given that our previous challenges have drawn hundreds of participants, I’m curious why more of you didn’t join?
Were you intimidated? Didn’t know what to do? Not interested? The majority of submissions came in the middle of the month. Perhaps you lost steam as the month wore on?
Regardless, speed work is key to becoming a stronger, faster runner.
As promised, here is a list of the 2014 April Mile Speed Challenge as presented by Twin Cities in Motion, Medtronic and us. Don’t forget to continue logging your miles as part of the Act Fast 97,000 Mile Challenge all year long. We’ll be back with an individual challenge in June.
