Run The Miracle Treats for Miracle Feet kids Triathlon
Today’s post comes from Jessica Congdon – one of the event supporters.
Ten years ago a boy named Julius was born with bilateral clubfeet. He went through many sets of casts, multiple surgeries and hours of physical therapy. Julius’s goal was to walk across the playground without assistance on his first day of third grade. What’s amazing is that after a major surgery, months in a wheel chair, and countless hours of physical therapy, his dream became a reality all due to the help and support of the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.
What is the Miracle Treats for Miracle Feet Triathlon?
In honor of Julius’s courageous journey towards that “special walk” and to help raise funds and awareness of the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, the Miracle Treats for Miracle Feet kids triathlon was created. The triathlon is for children 4-14 to help raise money for the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.
All children with or without disabilities are encouraged to participate. If for any reason a Gillette patient is unable to participate but wants to be involved, another child will run in their honor. The race course distances for the swim, bike and run vary based on the age of the child participating.
Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals
Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals is a charity that has touched the lives of thousands of children in 170 hospitals all over the United States and Canada for the past 30 years. More children’s lives are touched by the help of the CMNH than any other children’s charity in the U.S. The children in these hospitals are suffering from various illness, diseases, or disabilities ranging from asthma to Cancer, or a broken bone to traumatic injuries. Not only does CMNH provide care and treatment, but they also provide hope for the future for both the children and their families.
