The October 2017 Minnesota Race Guide
Are you ready for pumpkin spice and everything nice? October is just around the corner and with it comes pumpkin flavored goodies, autumn leaves, and the hotly anticipated fall marathon season.
Each year, I anxiously await the first weekend of October for the Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon and this year is no different. Try your hand at one of the many events over marathon weekend including the TC 5K, TC 10K, Toddler Trot and other family events on Saturday, September 30 or the TC 10 Mile or Marathon on Sunday, October 1.
Looking for something different this year? The Mankato Marathon takes place just a few weeks later on October 23 and offers the BOLDEST race experience around. The weekend of events includes a 5K, 10K, Half Marathon, Marathon Relay, Full Marathon and several family-friendly distances such as the Diaper Dash, Kids K, and BOLD walk, a 0.6-mile walk created for “anyone who may not be able to participate in a more traditional race distance due to physical inactivity, chronic disease, or disease”. There really is something for everyone at the Mankato Marathon!
Even if you’re not preparing for a fall marathon, there are plenty of races to choose from in October. Find fun runs, competitive races, and scary, Halloween-themed events perfect for runners of all abilities.
Check out all of the upcoming races in October as well as our Featured Events below.
Right around the corner is the Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon, the most beautiful urban marathon in America! Register now (to say yourself some money), then start training this summer!
If you’re not ready for a full marathon, try your hand at the TC 10 Mile which takes place the same day as the Twin Cities Marathon. It’s the shortcut to the capitol!
Try something new this year and check out the Midwest’s BOLDEST race, the Mankato Marathon. The whole family can take part in the fun with distances such as the diaper dash and the Pork Power 5K or the Bold Walk.
