A Few Minneapolis Running Community Updates
Hello, dear reader, we have a bit of a different post for you today. (You can look for more running related content later this week.) We’re making a few changes to the site, and need the help of our community for a few projects. Keep reading to learn more!
Since April of 2012, nearly 1 million runners have accessed our content.* We also know that almost 6,000 runners have downloaded one of our training plans, or online products. The site has continued to grow, and what started with a few hours a week by me, Nathan, has almost turned into a full-time job with multiple contributors. All of those numbers are great, but what has been the most rewarding/exciting aspect of the site is hearing from readers like you about their ups, downs, and big audacious goals!
With this in mind, we’d like to ask for your help in enabling us to reach even more runners in the coming year.
*According to our google analytics, 999,993 “sessions” have been recorded since Minneapolis Running began tracking. A session is one way to measure unique browsing instances.
Are you Trying to Qualify for Boston this year?
If you’re trying to qualify for the Boston Marathon this year, we want to hear about it! We’re looking for a couple of people who would be willing to chronicle their journey towards a BQ. Similar to the Nike Breaking2 project, we want to tell the story of real runners as they embark on their own “impossible” journey.
If you’re interested, tell us a little bit about what you’re trying to accomplish here and we’ll be in touch within the next few weeks to get started.
Are you Interested in Specific Race Distances?
We are in the process of creating race specific interest emails that would consist of 3-10 emails (depending on the race) focused specifically on how to train for your preferred distance. If you’ve voraciously consumed every article we’ve ever written, there may be some repeat information and articles in there for you. Still, we could all use a few training reminders from time to time!
Simply click here to subscribe and/or setup your e-mail preferences. The training emails won’t start until March, but at least you’ll be ready to go!
Oh, and while you’re at it, feel free to update all of your email preferences. Too many emails? No problem! We have daily, weekly, and monthly email delivery options.
Spring Cleaning Discount
In anticipation of spring cleaning, we’re offering 30% off all Minneapolis Running gear. We have t-shirts, hoodies and singlets, all in limited quantities. Use code springClean to receive 30% off your next order. Act fast, the discount expires on March 1.
We’re Hiring!
Well, sort of… Are you interested in submitting content to be published on Minneapolis Running? We’re looking for guest contributors, as well as regular writers from our running community. You don’t need to have professional writing experience (although it’s definitely a bonus), but if you think you have an interesting perspective, let us know!
Thanks again for being a part of our Minneapolis Running community, we can’t wait to hear from you!
