July 2017 Races in Minnesota
July is filled with sticky, Midwest summer days, backyard BBQs, endless evenings, and yes, a few sweaty road races, too.
I love to use summer as a time to cross-train, build my (marathon) base miles, and a time to hop into unscheduled races to test out my speed. There are dozens of race options to suit this very purpose – holiday races, 5Ks, full marathons, and plenty of just-for-fun events, too, like the Great Inflatable Race on July 15!
No matter how you spend your month of July – cross-training in the heat of the day or working hard at building speed, don’t forget to stay hydrated and have fun!
We’ve waited all winter for this; it’s officially summer!

The Great Inflatable Race is the perfect summer event for the whole family. Leave your PR pants at home and get ready to run, jump, and bounce through the 1.5-3 mile course filled with inflatable obstacles!
Now in its 15th year, the Urban Wildland Half Marathon & 5K has funded the 45-year environmental education partnership between Wood Lake Nature Center and Richfield Public Schools. The flat, fast courses wind through shaded residential neighborhoods and through three natural areas.
