Join the March into Spring Challenge
This winter sucks. In fact, it’s currently the 8th coldest winter IN HISTORY!
If you’re not already sick of running on a treadmill, you’re either crazy, spent time on an indoor track, or tough as nails and running outside all winter. Either way, there is sun at the end of the proverbial ice covered tunnel of winter.
Since the January miles challenge motivated you to get a jump start on 2014, and the February core challenge encouraged you to develop some rock hard abs for improved running efficiency, let’s do another! How about we band together to make one final push to make it through until spring?
Marching into Spring
We all know the snow won’t be gone in three weeks (maybe six?). Last year it snowed in May. Regardless, you need to remain optimistic. Sooner rather than later, winter will release it’s death grip on Minnesota. Commute times will drop along with the number of layers required to survive a 5 mile run outside.
To help motivated you, we’re launching the March into Spring 50, 100, or 150 mile challenge. You can run (or walk) those distances and get entered to win some great prizes (TBD).
How to Enter
As an added motivational bonus, tell us, and the world, your 2014 goals in the comments section. Assuming you have the right form of support, making your goals public is one way to help you achieve them.
How to Run 50, 100 or 150 miles in March
Regardless of where you’re at today, you can run your desired distance by the end of the month. Here’s how.
Below is a sample plan of how you could run 50 miles this month. As you can tell, it’s not that difficult if you’re motivated.
Here is an example of what 100 miles might look like. Again, it’s not that difficult, but unless you’re already running 10 miles a week, be careful as you ramp up.
If you’re shooting for 150 miles, you probably don’t need a sample schedule, but here’s one anyway. As you can tell, it makes some assumptions about what you can already run.
