The Details
Registration is now open for the 8th annual Red, White & Boom Half Marathon and 5K! The races take place on Tuesday, July 4th to celebrate Independence Day, and like all Twin Cities in Motion events, the Red, White & Boom is expertly organized and offers fun for the entire family.
In addition to the classic, beautiful Minneapolis race course (along the Mississippi River, through tree-lined city streets, and finishing on the iconic Stone Arch Bridge), the Red, White & Boom races feature well-thought out race logistics (hello parking suggestions, hotel block rates, and travel recommendations), multiple race distance options, and a family-friendly atmosphere perfect for celebrating the good ol’ U.S. of A. Five Reasons to Run the Red, White & Boom
Multiple Ways to Race
There are several race options to choose from for the Red, White & Boom! Run the classic half marathon, or split the distance with a friend to run the half marathon relay. Not quite ready for 13.1 miles? The 5K is right up your alley and just as fun! Traveling for the holiday or live outside of the Twin Cities? New for this year, the Red, White & Boom is offering a virtual race option! Register online, choose your own 13.1 or 5K route, submit your finish time, and receive race SWAG. Whether you’re a long distance or short distance fan, local to the Twin Cities or far away, the Red, White & Boom has a fun and festive way to celebrate the 4th of July for you!
Friendly Competition
Experienced runners are in for a treat at the Red, White & Boom! All competitive runners are eligible to compete for prize money and the RRCA Minnesota State Championship. Not in it to win it? The fast and well-supported course will help you to focus on making this your best race yet!
VIP Experience
You don’t need to be experienced or speedy to be a VIP! All runners are able to take part in a VIP race experience for an additional $20. Red, White & Boom VIPs receive access to private porta-potties, additional race gifts, one free beer (for ages 21+), a designated sweats check and tent, and the chance to win special awards and prizes! Everyone and anyone can sign up for the VIP Experience by adding this option to your race registration, but hurry because space is limited!
Race Goodies
Like all Twin Cities in Motion races, the Red, White & Boom features some of the best race goodies around. All participants receive a Brooks technical short sleeve t-shirt (men and women’s sizes), and all race finishers receive a commemorative pint glass and a unique finisher’s medal. (We’re suckers for practical race goodies such as pint glasses; fill with your beverage of choice to celebrate your race finish and savor for years to come!)
Post-Race Party
A 4th of July race would be incomplete without a rockin’ post-race party! The Red, White & Boom pulls out all the stops for a family-friendly celebration at Hennepin Bluffs Park next to the finish line. The Finish Festival is open for all runners and spectators to enjoy a post-race picnic with various treats from race-day partners, cool off with a glide down the Slip n’ Slide (yes, really!), play lawn games with friends, and listen to live music.
