Five Reasons to Run the Fall Chocoholic Frolic
Do you love to run? Do you love Chocolate? Then the Chocoholic Frolic is for you! Don’t like gatorade at your waterstops? Good, there will be hot chocolate at your waterstop. Don’t want bananas and oranges at the finish line? No worries, just indulge in the chocolate fountains. Sick of healthy snack bars in your race bags? WE ARE TOO!! So we put chocolate candies in them for you.
The folks at Final Stretch have created a novel idea – combining two great things; running and chocolate. If that wasn’t reason enough to run, here are five more reasons you might want to check out the Chocoholic Frolic on November 3rd!
1. Winter is around the corner:
Fall is the most wonderful time in Minnesota. The air is crisp, the scenery is unbeatable and the sound of the leaves crunching under your feet is all the music you need. Before we know it snow will be on the ground and the days will be much colder. So why not get in one last 5K/10K before winter starts?
2. The course is gorgeous:
Both the 5k and 10k routes start at the Union Depot in St. Paul, head across the Wabasha bridge and over to Water Street which runs along the Mississippi River. Those running the 10k get an extra treat after the turn around point where the course heads onto newly formed trails that meander through Lilydale/Harriet Regional Park. If you’ve never been back there – it’s spectacular.
3. MN Pacers will be there:
Running with a pacer is a great way to attain your goals! For those running the 10K – MN Pacers will be at the race providing “spot on” pace leaders. Eight pace groups will be available offering options for a wide range of goal times/goal paces:
- 44min (7:05/mile)
- 47min (7:34/mile)
- 50min (8:03/mile)
- 53min (8:32/mile)
- 57min (9:11/mile)
- 1hr (9:40/mile)
- 1hr 5min (10:29/mile)
- 1hr 10min (11:17/mile)
4. Did Someone Say Chocolate?:
From hot chocolate at water stops to chocolate candies in your race bag – this race is full of chocolate. Add to that a Custom ¼ zip Technical Jacket, a Custom Finisher Chocolate Bar and a cool Custom Drawstring bag and you’ll be sure to get your chocolate fix. Thinking you might crack the top three overall finishers? Well, then look forward to your very own 1lb chocolate bar!
5. It’ll be Fun!:
Just under 1,000 runners ran the Spring Chocoholic Frolic and we’d bet they had a blast doing it! There are nearly 1,900 runners getting ready for a good time at the Fall event. A few of us at Minneapolis Running will be there – I’ll be running with the 47min pace group and would love to get a chance to say hi and share a cup of hot chocolate with you!
