Ask an Expert!
We are launching a podcast, but we need your help! Where do you go to get your questions answered about running? Perhaps you use a site like ours, a running friend, or head down to your local running store. What about really specific questions? Or weird ones?
Where do you go to get those answered?
Now, you can ask us!
Technically you always could, but we are launching Ask an Expert – a DAILY podcast that features an actual question submitted from a real runner like you! On an almost daily basis, I receive an email, tweet or facebook message from readers who have a wide variety of questions. Sometimes I can point them back to older posts we’ve written, or write them something new. Other times, I need to ask someone else, or go back and do a little research (you’d be surprised how many post ideas come from your questions).
In the Ask an Expert podcast, I will chat with a running related “expert” and we will answer one question per day. Not only will you get to learn a little bit about this expert, but you’ll get to hear their best advice and answer to your question.
Guidelines
My goal is to have this show be fun, personal, and super useful. It will be helpful to have a few guidelines to make sure your question can be featured on the show.
- Please keep your question around a minute. If it goes a little over, that’s fine, but please be concise and to the point.
- Please introduce yourself, and share what you are currently training for (if applicable), or what big category your question falls into. For example: “Hi, my name is Phillip K. from Minneapolis, I am currently training for Grandma’s marathon and my question is about speed work. I am wondering…”
- Spammy, disrespectful, or questions that are too personal will not be considered for the podcast.
Please note that injury related questions are not a substitute for actual medical attention. We can definitely offer simple suggestions however.
Submit Your Questions Here
We are using SpeakPipe.com, a great service that will let you leave us a voicemail right here. All you need is an Internet connection and a microphone.
Also note that it’s impossible to get to everyone’s question—you may not receive a direct response to your question. I will answer qualified questions as they come, but if your question has already been asked by someone else, I will have to move on to the next. Keep listening to the show–I hope to answer most questions at some point. Depending on the volume of questions received, I will try to email you back with a response.
If your request is time-sensitive, contact me directly. Depending on who the expert is, questions may be put off a week or so if a more perfect expert will be on. Thanks for understanding, and thanks for listening!
