December 2016 and January 2017 Races in Minnesota
Here we are: November. Baseball season has ended, election day is around the corner, leaves are on the ground, and the holidays are on their way! If you’ve been thinking about turkey trotting, jingle jogging, reindeer running, or freezing your gizzard off, it’s time to register for your next race NOW!
Things can often slow down this time of year. There are far fewer races than any other time of the year. However, the holiday season brings us lots of fun races to dress up, join family and friends, and get outside for some good old fashioned pavement-pounding miles. Whether you’ve accomplished your big audacious goals, are learning to embrace failures, or are mapping out big plans for 2017, a fun December or January race is a great way to reset after a long season of training and racing.
Below are just a few of the races in December and January that can be found in Minnesota:
If you will be in the Twin Cities on Thanksgiving, the Delta Dental Turkey Day 5K is the biggest and best turkey trot around. In fact, it’s the largest Thanksgiving day event in the state!
Out of town for Thanksgiving? Fear not, you can still get your dose of holiday running at the SCHEELS Santas on the Run 5k run/walk. This is by far the most festive and fun race all season – all runners receive a Santa suit with registration and are encouraged to wear it during the race!
If you’d like to focus more on 2017, registration is now open for the 2017 Twin Cities in Motions Challenge Series. There are several challenges to chose from, each with different levels of intensity.
