The 2016 August Minnesota Race Calendar
August will be here before we know it. If you’re not already registered for a race or two, now’s the time to do it. Summer, as you know, is a terrific time to run. Stay hydrated and take full advantage of the extra sun.
For us here at Minneapolis Running HQ, we’re putting the finishing touches on our fall marathon training program. In addition to our free training plan, we have a more in depth option for those who want a bit more help. These will include virtual and in-person training groups, online communities and a training plan for any level. This will be excellent if you’re running TCM, Mankato, or the dozens of other marathons happening between late September and early December.
Here are a few races we’re particularly fond of. They are well organized, fun and we guarantee they have permits approved.
Red, White & Boom! Half marathon, relay and 5k
We just wrote about this race, because it’s awesome. Start your 4th of July celebration with 13.1 (or 6.5, or 3.1) glorious miles through Minneapolis!
This is an epic Minneapolis summer tradition. Epic run, epic after party. It’s just epic!
Beautiful course with tons of shade and mostly flat. Go get a PR here!
Join the battle for the border and see which of this ‘weasely’ rodents is faster.
Run the full, relay, half, 10K, 5K, KidsK, Toddler Trot or Diaper Dash. Literally something for everyone.
It’s one weekend later than normal, but don’t let that stop you from signing up for an event this weekend. Full Marathon, 10 mile, 10k, 5k, and stuff for the kids.
There are MANY more races in August. Make sure you use the navigation arrows the find one for you!
