The 2015 November Minnesota Race Guide
Ah November! When fall turns into winter, and we put away our warm weather running gear in favor of something with a little more coverage. November for me is usually the beginning of my “off-season.” While I never quit running entirely, I cut way back from the first week of November through the holidays. Throw in a Turkey Trot or Jingle Bell run here or there, and it’s a wonderful time to simply get back to running without much of a plan. Signing up for a race in November is a great way to ensure you don’t hibernate too much.

If you like Chocolate, you’ll love the Fall Chocoholic Frolic in St. Paul. Not only will you be treated to a well organize, 5k and 10k chip timed course, but you’ll be treated to a barrage of chocolate treats as you finish the race. A warm cup of hot cocoa tastes especially lovely as you fight off the chill from a brisk November Sunday.
The Minnesota Brewery Running series is hosting a run at Dangerous Man Brewing on November 21. If you need an excuse to explore a local brewery, why not throw in a 5k?
And of course, November is the official month of the Turkey Trot. There are over 17 in Minnesota, with the biggest of course being the Life Time Fitness Turkey Day 5k in downtown Minneapolis. Bundle up, grab the family and make this a new annual tradition. It will justify the extra helping of sweet potato casserole and three pieces of pie at dinner.
Planning Ahead
As you prepare your 2016 racing calendar, consider the TC Challenge Series. With 6 to choose from, it’s a great way to push yourself to the limits, and save a little money by taking advantage of early bird pricing.
