If you know of a great hill that you’ve done hill repeats on, let us know and we’ll add it!
Running up the ski jump hill at Hyland Park in Bloomington is brutal, and the quads get a good burn coming back down.
That sounds brutal!
This thread is ignoring St Paul, which is far hillier than Minneapolis.
The hill up Ramsey St from Pleasant Ave / Grand Ave to Summit Ave is a killer with a grade of at least 8.5%.
Also, a GREAT long climb (about a 2.3% grade over 3.8 miles) starts at the Robert Ave Bridge in downtown St Paul, crosses the bridge to Water Street, from there to Plato Blvd, jogging over to Ohio St; from there go up Ohio to George St, left (east) on George to Stryker, continuing up Stryker to Imperial Dr W, ending at Imperial Ridge, the highest point in the immediate Twin Cities area. The elevation change is 430 feet and the route has 460 feet of climb.
If you start at Kaposia Landing and run up through Kaposia Park and then turn right on the trail (before Sperl St) and run up to the east shore of Thompson Lake, that’s a 2.8% grade over 1.75 miles with an elevation gain of 255 feet and a total climb of 262 feet.
