This is What Winter Running in Minnesota Looks Like
Happy first day of spring – although it may not feel like it. This winter has been brutal. Not only in Minnesota, but across the country.
We’ve talked about it, analyzed it, and complained more than any other winter. In fact, if you were born after 1979, this is the coldest winter in our lifetimes! Even if you spent the majority of the past four months running on a treadmill, or an indoor non-ice covered track, you survived.
While there will be snow on the ground for several more weeks (and more is coming), the worst is most definitely behind us. As the parkways, bikeways and running trails continue to melt and provide more traction for speed work, don’t forget that you survived.
Images of Winter Running
It has been fun watching you post your winter running pics on social media. As proof that you are braver (or crazier) than most of the states population. A sign of heroism that you stared down this coldpocalypse and said “you will not defeat me!”
We’ve been asking runners to send us their winter running pics, and we’ve received some great ones. Below is a reminder of what you’ve endured in this winter of 2013-2014. Take joy knowing that next year can’t be worse… probably.
Minnesota Winter Running
Here are just a few pictures of what winter running in Minnesota looks like. Leave a comment below if your pic is in here… I sort of lost track. With all the full face masks, it’s hard to distinguish who is who.
Thank you to everyone who sent in a pic! If you have more pics, send them and I’ll make sure they get added.
