Minneapolis Running is a group of Twin Cities runners who focus on local running news, events, and provide universal training advice to help you run your fastest. If you are a Minnesota Runner, this site is for you!
We set out to create a site that focus on local running information with global relevance. We Minnesotans are a quirky bunch. We like to fish, eat hot dish, and run outside in some of the most perplexing weather in the country. Runners are also quirky. Put the two together… brilliant.
The articles and reviews found here are written by runners for runners. We hope to communicate our experiences in ways that make sense. Whether you’re brand new to running, or have been at it for 45+ years, there’s something here for you.
Our focus gravitates towards nutrition, race reviews, training tips as well as smart gear reviews and injury prevention tips. We also have an ever growing race calendar for all your racing curiosity. If you’re a race director looking to get advertise, or just a small non-profit doing a charity 5k event, let us know how we can help spread the word.
Occasionally, we may also throw in other Minneapolis news as it relates to our wonderful city. There are so many ways that our city and state not only support our great sport, but many others ways running and life intersect. Health, fitness, nutrition, caring for others and establishing a lifestyle that promotes heath and activity are all things that make Minneapolis and St. Paul wonderful places to live, work and play.
Who are we?
Minneapolis Running was started by Nathan Freeburg in May of 2012. He quickly recruited others to join his quest to build the best running site ever. Dr. Ty, Sarah, Joseph, Jennifer, Michele and others contribute to the content found here. We’re just average folks who love running, Minneapolis, and the intersection of life in the city. After all, cities generate the best of all of us – and we’re lucky to boast at have the most beautiful urban marathon in America.
